The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking motivated and innovative individuals for Faculty Positions at a developing program.  Rank to be determined by qualifications. Tenure or non-tenure tracks available.  We are searching for team-oriented faculty members to create a dynamic and collaborative program. UAMS is a large medical facility with seven institutes including the Reynolds Institute on Aging, Stephens Spine Institute, Jones Eye Institute, Myeloma Institute for Research & Therapy, Psychiatric Research Institute, Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, and Translational Research Institute.  The university has five colleges including Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and Health Related Professions (CHRP) as well as a Graduate School of biomedical sciences. The College of Health Related Professions which houses the PA Program also has 22 other programs with the potential for innovative inter-professional opportunities.  The PA Program has strong administrative support, excellent benefits and professional development for obtaining a PhD/EdD, and a tremendous collaborative spirit.

1.            Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program.
2.            Master’s degree.  Doctoral degree strongly preferred.
3.            Current NCCPA certification.
4.            One year of clinical experience as a practicing PA.
5.            Teaching experience in physician assistant education strongly preferred.
6.            Eligibility for licensure in the state of Arkansas.

1.            12 month, full-time position that reports to the Chair/ Program Director.
2.            Instruction of lectures and laboratories in didactic and clinical phase curriculum.
3.            Participation in the ARC-PA Provisional Accreditation Application, Process and Site Visit.
4.            Course direction of specific didactic phase courses.
5.            Assistance with implementation and evaluation of didactic and clinical phase curriculum.
6.            Academic advisement of PA students.
7.            Participation in student applicant admissions and interviewing.
8.            Participation in department meetings, college and university committees, and state and national PA organizations.
9.            Participation in scholarly and service activities appropriate for mission of department.
10.          Clinical practice opportunity available.
