The Program
The Radiologist Assistant (RA) program,
graduates of which earn the Master of Imaging Sciences (MIS) degree
began in 2005. It is
designed to prepare highly qualified and exceptionally motivated
diagnostic imaging technologists for careers as competent and
compassionate advanced practice radiologic health care providers. The RA
program addresses the needs of the adult learner in a health professions
setting with online instruction, a part-time option, minimum campus
visits (2), and clinical education either at the students place of
employment or nearby.
The
MIS degree is designed to accommodate multiple educational tracks as the
demand for advanced practitioners in specific modalities emerge,
beginning with the Radiologist Assistant (RA). Core courses will address
educational needs for advanced practice across the imaging disciplines,
and specific program tracks will focus on specialized areas of imaging
expertise. The track for the
Nuclear Medicine Advanced
Associate (NMAA) began in 2009. |
