Registry Continuing Education
The following
Continuing Education (CE) courses may be taken at other facilities and
transferred, if deemed equivalent as determined by the HIM program chairman*, to UAMS. If the student has not
completed any or part of the following classes, these classes are also
offered as CE classes by the Health Information Management (HIM)
department at UAMS. These classes are offered online to accommodate the
local and distance student within Arkansas using the Arkansas Health
Education Centers (AHECS) for live classes and proctoring of
examinations. The basic Cancer Registry CE classes include Medical
Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology with Pharmacology,
and Management with Data Presentation. Additional information and

After completion of
the above basic requirements, the student may then take the four cancer
registry track courses (10 SC hours) within the HIM program at UAMS.
