 Current Research:

•  Making EHDI decisions: An eDVD tool for families. This is an innovative technology project to develop an eDVD to facilitate decision making [Funded by the National Institute of Deafness and other Communication Disorders].

• Minimal response levels of normal hearing infants 8 to 12 months of age. This is an ongoing line of research evaluating normal hearing infants with future evaluations of infants with hearing loss [Funded by Widex, Office of Research in Clinical Audiology].
• Relationship of otoacoustic emissions (TEOAEs), puretone thresholds, and auditory evoked potential thresholds (AEPs) for children and adults aged 12 to 65 years of age. This is an ongoing line of research with plans to extrapolate and correlate information for the pediatric population [Funded by the UAMS Medical Research Endowment Fund program].
• High frequency tympanometry in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). This is an ongoing line of research exploring factors responsible for delaying diagnosis of permanent hearing loss in a high risk population [Funded by the UALR Seed Grant program].

Future Research:

• The process of decision making for parents of infants/toddlers with hearing loss

• Minimum response levels of infants with hearing loss 8 to 12 months of age.
• The relationship of TEOAES to puretone thresholds and auditory evoked potentials in infants/toddlers.
• The role of high frequency tympanometry in reducing the diagnostic delay of infants/toddlers who may have permanent hearing loss.
• Evidence based practices in audiology for the pediatric population.
