Clinical Director
of Audiology
Assistant
Professor
Graduate Courses
Taught:
-
Anatomy and
Physiology of the Auditory and Vestibular Systems
-
Electrophysiologic Assessment of the Auditory System I
-
Electrophysiologic Assessment of the Auditory System II
-
Auditory
Processing (Disorders)
Current Research:
-
Completing
data analyses for multiple frequency tympanograms (Y, B, and G) in young
adults, and multiple frequency tympanograms in native American children from
birth to 5 years of age
-
Conducting a
study to examine any differences in audiological testing across the duration
of normal pregnancy and one-month post-partum
-
Conducting a
study to compare the unaided and aided spectra of Ling Sounds using probe
microphone measures, and compare behavioral performance during a Ling Sound
test with the aided spectra
-
Conducting a
study to examine the effect of noise and aging on auditory evoked brainstem
responses to speech
-
Conducting a
study to explore the utility of auditory cortical potentials as an objective
measure of small spectral contrast discrimination in normal hearing
listeners
Future Research:
-
Examine other
ethnic or post-surgical differences in tympanograms
-
Examine other
auditory evoked cortical potential changes to noise and aging
-
Compare
auditory cortical potentials (electrophysiologic) and behavioral performance
(psychophysical) to small spectral contrasts
-
Examine
efferent stimulation influences on the frequency-following responses (FFR)
to two-tone complexes
