Novel Methodologies and Pilot Studies

Specific Aims

Aging Center researchers

Aim 1. Establish a critical group of experienced clinical and translational research facilitators. A group of influential and interdisciplinary faculty - “Rainmakers” – has been established to stimulate the translational research process. The CCTR Rainmakers facilitate translational research processes.

Aim 2. Establish a program of Clinical and Translational Innovation Awards and Pilot Studies. A program is being established which promotes exceptional individual and/or team science through competition for 3 types of awards: collaborative research grants, high-impact grants, and investigator-initiated awards. The awards will target investigators and programs from all disciplines, departments, and colleges at UAMS and among its partners. See CCTR Awards for Innnovative Clinical and translational Research

Aim 3. Establish a process to promote multidisciplinary collaborations that augment delivery of health-related discoveries to patients/communities. Rainmakers will work with all CCTR components to encourage multidisciplinary collaborations, seek ways to improve the award program, and identify underdeveloped areas of medical discovery.
