Healing Arts Luncheon
The UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary values providing quality care to all patients and visitors of the UAMS Medical Center. The Auxiliary understands that care comes not only from prescriptions and tests, but often through complementary means. It has sponsored programs and events on campus that provide alternative forms of healing to patients, including music, art and other forms of therapy. The Healing Arts Luncheon seeks to further expand on these means by presenting ways the UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary and the community can be involved in providing world class care to the state of Arkansas at the UAMS Medical Center. Gift Shop Garage Sale
The Auxiliary hosted its first Gift Shop Garage Sale in 2007. The event was prompted after cleaning out items that had been held in the UAMS Medical Center Gift Shop’s storage areas. Items were reduced and displayed in the Ward Tower Admissions Lobby for a two-day sale in September. The sale made way for new merchandise for the UAMS Medical Center Gift Shop and all profits from the sale benefitted the work and projects of the UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary. Masquerade Jewelry Sale
The UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary has participated in a Masquerade Jewelry Sale for the past two years. In October of 2007, the sale was held in the first floor shell space of the Jackson T. Stephens Spine and Neurosciences Institute. All items: bags, earrings, watches, bracelets, wraps, etc. sold for $5.00. Aromatique
Along with the generosity of Dick and Patti Upton (owners of the fabulous Arkansas- based company, Aromatique), the UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary has been able to host 13 consecutive Aromatique sales open to the UAMS campus and Auxiliary members. Aromatique’s high-quality merchandise arrives on campus and each year Auxiliary members dutifully unpack it and display it to be sold at prices sure to please any decorative fragrance lover. Proceeds from the sale have represented the largest amount of funds raised in fundraisers hosted by the UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary. More...
Tree Lights Campaign
Each year the Auxiliary holds its Tree Lights Fundraiser around the holiday season. The event asks members and friends of the UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary to place a light on the UAMS Medical Center Holiday Tree in honor or memory of someone. Lights may be purchased for a reasonable fee and each person honored receives a handwritten note from the UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary informing her/him of the honor. In 2007, new cards and artwork were created for the Tree Lights Campaign that represent the vibrancy of the UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary. In addition, the Auxiliary hosted the first annual Lighting of the Trees, an event that celebrated the beginning of the holiday season with caroling and warm apple cider. More...
