What are health disparities?

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services defines health disparities as "...the persistent gaps between health status of minorities and non-minorities in the United States."

National Partnership for Action (NPA)
An agency of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, the NPA connects people and organizations across the nation for the purpose of eliminating health disparities by providing quality health outcomes for everyone.

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Web site provides practical health care information, research findings, and data to help consumers, health providers, health insurers, researchers, and policymakers make informed decisions about health care issues.

Arkansas Minority Health Commission (AMHC)
The AMHC focuses on bridging the gap in health status between the minority and majority populations.
