Arkansas Disability & Health Program

The Arkansas Disability & Health Program (ADHP) is one of 16 state projects funded by the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Our mission is to:

  1. Promote good health for Arkansans with disabilities
  2. Increase access to health care for persons with disabilities
  3. Identify interventions to reduce or eliminate secondary conditions

According to data collected for the 2007 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) 24.5% of Arkansans have a disability.

ADHP collaborates to address the health related needs of Arkansans with disabilities with a broad coalition of agencies/organizations.

The Arkansas Disability & Health Program is housed at Partners for Inclusive Communities (Arkansas’ University Center on Disabilities) a program of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
