is highly treatable but often goes unrecognized. Reducing stigma and increasing the ability of providers to screen, refer, and treat the illness are vital interventions needed to result in more women being appropriately treated for depression.

The one-year program objectives include:

1. Delivery of a bi-lingual, statewide, public media campaign utilizing radio and print media to reduce the stigma associated with perinatal depression

2. Provide educational and referral sources to callers responding to the media campaign

3. Addition of a bi-lingual staff member to facilitate communication in the call center

4. Delivery of provider CME education specific to perinatal depression and the use of the PHQ-9, primarily via telecommunications to best reach many rural and time-constricted providers

5. Provision of provider support available in the 24/7 call center with access for consultation through the depression care manager and the psychiatric director of the project via telecommunications

6. Collection of state-specific, perinatal depression data utilizing pre and post campaign provider
surveys.

DREAM will be evaluated by measures of the number of perinatal depression related calls to the call center, provider CME education participation, provider pre and post campaign survey data, and media outreach measures.
