Resident Annual Salaries 2008 - 2009
Stipends for residents are competitive with other state schools in the southern region. The PGY- 1 level stipend for 2008-2009 is $44,250.

Vacation
Residents receive 15 days of paid vacation each year.
Sick/Parental Leave
Residents have 5 days of sick leave for medical reasons during each year of training.
Meals
A meal allowance is provided for residents who take in-house call. The break down is as follows:
Team Leader, 1st Call, 2nd Call and OB Call Night Float - $8.25 per call weekdays, weekends, holidays
24-Hour In-House Call - $16.50 per call weekdays, weekends, holidays
3rd Call paid at $8.25 per call for weekdays only (not paid for weekend/holiday)
Heart Call paid at $5.00 per call for weekdays only (not paid for weekend/holiday)
Late Stay paid at $5.00 per call for weekdays only (not paid for weekend/holiday)
Conference Sponsorship
One podium/poster presentation per resident will be sponsored by the Department during the CA2 or CA3 year of training, up to $1,000 to those residents who maintain conference attendance of 80% or higher. Any costs in excess of $1,000 will be the responsibility of the resident.
Departmental Library and Computers
The department has two Anesthesia libraries that contain a large selection of journals, texts, and educational computer software for your use.
Educational Allowance
Each PGY-1 through PGY-4 resident is allowed an educational allowance of $1300 to be used during the four (4) years of anesthesia training. This money is intended as a financial supplement for books, journals, and/or conference attendance to support our didactic program.
