Thank you for visiting the website of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). The faculty and staff of our division are committed to achieving excellence in clinical care, medical education, and medical research in alignment with the missions and goals of both ACH and UAMS.
Our faculty physicians and staff nurse anesthetists provide comprehensive pediatric perioperative anesthesia and sedation care, and both acute and chronic pain medicine services throughout Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Additionally, our division provides anesthesia and procedural sedation support for pediatric and adult patients of the ACH Burn Center through the section on adult and burn anesthesia Members of the section on pediatric and adult congenital cardiac anesthesia work closely with physicians from other departments to provide world-class care for patients requiring cardiac surgical, catheterization lab, and diagnostic imaging procedures.
Faculty anesthesiologists at UAMS/ACH provide accredited educational opportunities for the continuum of medical education from undergraduate medical school rotations through anesthesiology residency and onto post-residency pediatric anesthesia fellowship. Limited opportunities for observation or “shadowing” may be available for other types of students, such as high school or college students who are interested in learning more about health professions careers or the delivery of anesthesia care. Faculty members are also involved in a wide variety of both investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical research.
