In 1998, the AHEC clinic acquired the Justiss-Lindsey Clinic where Dr. Richard Justiss and Dr. James Lindsey had previously maintained a private practice. This acquisition allowed for more space to teach family practice residents in an environment similar to a small private practice. Beginning in the second year of training, selected residents will follow their own panel of patients in the Justiss-Lindsey Clinic.  The Justiss-Lindsey Clinic is located adjacent to the grounds of the hospital.
