Philosophy The central philosophy underlying the AHEC-NW Family Medicine Residency Program is to achieve the goal of producing excellent family physicians within a supportive, caring environment. We strive to do more than simply use the word "family" in our name; we attempt to provide a supportive "family" to our residents in our approach to training. Our faculty recognize the fact that although residency training is stressful, it can be made less so by offering an amenable working environment. This philosophy is put into practice when we have a regularly scheduled social function (picnic, party, etc.) for our residents, faculty, staff and families.
