Area Health Education Programs - Residency Program
The AHEC-NW Family Medicine Residency Program is one of six statewide UAMS
Area Health Education Center (AHEC) residency programs that are administered
by this organization's central AHEC office in Little Rock.
The residency program is three years in length. Because of high interest in
our program since its inception we have expanded from four to nine residents
per year and have grown from one to two Family Medicine centers. The program
is fully accredited by the Residency Review Committee for Family Medicine
(RRC-FP) of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education
(ACGME). This residency program has an excellent academic track record and
reputation. It has been recognized throughout the South Central region as a
program of excellence. At the AHEC National Meeting in 1999 the Arkansas
AHEC system received national recognition as the recipient of the Gene Meyer
Award for the most outstanding AHEC program in the nation . Our program is
proud to be a strong member of the Arkansas AHEC system. |
