Curriculum
The curriculum of the AHEC-NW Family Medicine Residency Program is designed to
assure that our residents will become the best family physicians possible.
We feel strongly that it should be the resident who decides which limits to
place on his or her future practice rather than these limits be the result
of a lack of available learning experience at the residency program. The
faculty of this residency is committed to providing an opportunity in which
residents can learn the skills which will be important in their future
practices. Our residents, therefore, have the opportunity to learn at their
discretion, procedures such as D & C, tubal ligation, colposcopy, vasectomy,
colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD). In addition, our training
in medicine, obstetrics and pediatrics is excellent. Our curriculum is
structured as follows:
CLINICS:
First Year: two 1/2 day clinics per week in the
Family Medicine Center
Second Year: three 1/2 day clinics per week in the
Family Medicine Center
Third Year: four 1/2 day clinics per week in the
Family Medicine Center
