AHEC Fort Smith Family Medical Center

MEET OUR PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL INTERPRETERS:

 AHEC-Fort Smith boasts eleven English/Spanish bi-lingual staffers.  Of these eleven employees, seven have attended Beyond Communications Limits® Medical Interpreter Training Program and an eighth has undergone training through the UAMS Non-Medical Interpreter Training Program.  All eight staffers have been presented with Certificates of Completion.

These eight individuals work in the Fort Smith Family Medical Clinic as dual-role medical interpreters.  What this means is that they work filling two separate work roles, e.g. Licensed Practical Nurse/Medical Interpreter or Registration Clerk/Non-Medical Interpreter, etc.  Non-Medical Interpreters work strictly on the business part of the clinic.
