AHEC - Fort Smith Library Librarian: Grace Anderson, Director of Library Services
The Fort Smith AHEC/ Sparks Regional Health Sciences Library is located
in Sparks Regional Medical Center, 1001 Towson Avenue, Fort Smith, AR 72901.
The library supports the educational needs of the Fort Smith AHEC Family
Residency Program and UAMS students on rotation. It also serves as the
library for the local Sebastian County Medical Society and serves the needs
of Sparks staff and employees. As a designated AHEC library, the librarian
serves information needs for the following counties in western Arkansas:
Conway, Crawford, Faulkner, Franklin, Johnson, Logan, Montgomery, Perry,
Polk, Pope, Scott, Sebastian, Van Buren, Yell. The Library supports a variety of services, including mediated literature searches, interlibrary loans, training in data base searching and general reference services. A copy machine and Internet access are available for users. Electronic data bases DynaMed and Up-To-Date are available along with easy access to the family of data bases from the National Library of Medicine.
