Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center is one of only two pediatric Human Nutrition Research Centers in the United States, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  We operate within the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute, an incorporated institute of Arkansas Children’s Hospital and have a closely affiliated relationship with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
The research conducted at Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center is cutting-edge and designed to optimize the health of all people by learning how the diet we have as children affects us through our lifetime.  Our research focus can be sorted into three main categories: brain development; child development and disease prevention.  With a mission of optimizing the nutrition and health or young children through adolescence and maximizing their health as adults, we to discover how the food children eat affects their ability to speak, grow, develop, be healthy and avoid obesity.
