Biographical Sketch Jay Gandy, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the Toxicology Division of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at UAMS, received a B.S. from the University of Arkansas in 1976, a M.S. from the University of California in 1981, and his Ph.D. studying toxicology from the University of California in 1985. Dr. Gandy rose through the academic ranks at UAMS from Instructor to Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology between 1985 and 1991. He currently serves as the Director of the Occupational and Environmental Health Program at UAMS and is a Partner and Senior Toxicologist with the consulting group, CTEH, L.L.C. In 1992 he served as an AAAS/EPA Environmental Fellow at the Reproductive & Developmental Toxicology Branch at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC, and in 1999 was a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. His research in toxicology has resulted in more than 30 papers and has been funded by a variety of agencies, including NIEHS, U.S.EPA, and the American Institute for Cancer Research. |
