UAMS Mission Survey

Introduction
Purpose of this Survey: UAMS is currently conducting an institutional self-study in order to retain its accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. Accreditation by this agency is a requirement for subsequent college accreditations, most degree program accreditations, and for UAMS to be eligible to participate in federal student financial aid programs. To learn more about the accreditation, the Higher Learning Commission and UAMS’ self-study project, please visit the official accreditation project Web site at www.uams.edu/nca.

Five Criterion Committees have been established to prepare UAMS’ self-study. Two of those committees, #1 (Mission and Integrity) and #2 (Preparing for the Future) must respond to questions in the self-study criteria regarding UAMS’ mission and mission documents. Responses from the campus community regarding both will be critical to these committees when preparing their reports. Below are a few questions regarding each. The first part deals with the mission of UAMS, and the second with the mission statement in its entirety. Please take just a few moments to share your thoughts about the university’s mission and mission documents. In testing, the average time to complete the survey was 3.5 minutes.

Anonymity: The software that is being used to collect your responses allows your responses to be captured without any identifiable information, not even your computer IP address, so that your participation in this survey is completely anonymous.

Contacts: If you have any questions regarding this survey, please contact Claudia Barone, Chair of the Criterion 1 Committee, at 686-7997 or Elizabeth Bard, Project Director, at 296-1275.
