Projects

T32 Training Grant, "Translational Training in Addiction". Alan Budney, PhD, Co-PI for the Arkansas TRI application, received notice from the NIDA-K Review Group that his T32 training grant (NIH T32 DA022981-01A2) received funding.

Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity Program. Billy Thomas, MD, Associate Dean for Diversity Affairs (College of Medicine), received notice that his proposal (R25 GM083247-01A1) will be recommended for funding to the NIGMS Council. This award, using the NIH Research Education Grant Mechanism, will allow development of programs to increase the enrollment, retention and graduation of students from underrepresented groups in UAMS graduate programs.

K08 Mentored Clinical Scientist Research Career Development Award. Amy M. Scurlock, MD in the Department of Pediatrics, has been recommended for funding by the Sexually Transmitted Infections Branch of DMID/NIAID/NIH/DHHS (K08 AI077932, DMID/NIAID/ NIH/DHHS, “Immunoregulatory Networks in Chlamydia Genital Tract Infection”).

Clinical Translational Science Track. This is a track within the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program. It consists of two training pathways: the Clinical Researcher Training Pathway and the Basic Scientist Training Pathway.
