Clinical Research Services Core

Core Description

The new UAMS Clinical Research Services Core (CRSC) has a metabolic kitchen and satellite units at the Arkansas Children's Hospital, Reynolds Institute on Aging, Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute and the Psychiatric Research Institute. This transformed CRSC is the Arkansas TRI's premier resource for supporting investigators and research participants.

The management plan for CRSC and its satellite units includes a baseline level of support and a flexible schedule for supporting studies. In addition to providing specialized research space and traditional services such as nursing support, dietary consultation, a metabolic kitchen, biostatistical support, informatics consultation and specialized core laboratories CRSC coordinators are now available to assist with the regulatory aspects of protocol management, recruitment of research subjects, and other needs.

We are excited to be in the planning stages of a ~7,000 sq ft CRSC with an adjacent ~5,000 sq ft for TRI administrative offices located in the UAMS Central Building, 4th Floor. This central space for the TRI, CRSC, and coordinated administrative functions will greatly improve research coordination and integration of TRI components.
