Clinical Research Services Core
Specific Aims
Aim 1. Expand the role of the CRSC by improving access to and
availability of the CRSC resources at UAMS and its partner institutions
by bringing clinical and translational research services directly to
researchers. To accomplish this Aim we plan to complete relocation of
the primary CRSC Outpatient and Inpatient Facility into the heart of a
new UAMS University Hospital complex and complete expansion of CRSC
resources to multiple campus sites. We also seek to manage, coordinate,
and develop the CRSC support services at UAMS through the TRI to benefit
researchers interested in pursuing clinical and translational research.
The TRI will assist investigators with precisely identifying their
clinical research needs and developing and implementing plans to meet
those needs.
Aim 2. Facilitate the processes of developing and
submitting clinical and translational research protocols and improve
interactions with other program components of the TRI. Working with
other TRI stakeholders, we plan to enhance the study submission process
by completing the TRI Portal and continually evaluating the Web-based
interface tool. We also support protocol development through education,
mentoring, and statistical design. In our interactions, TRI personnel
seek to foster interdisciplinary collaborations.
Aim 3. Develop a
participant recruitment core to assist all investigators. We will hire
recruitment staff with expertise in participant recruitment methodology
to consult with investigators on their research needs and be
knowledgeable in available databases and registries. We also will
develop a centralized registry of potential research participants.
