Translational Research Institute

Description

The center's overarching goal is to transform the pace, effectiveness, and quality of translational research among UAMS and its partners, resulting in better health for all Arkansans. The TRI includes scientists from all UAMS colleges and disciplines, with representatives from all TRI external partners and the statewide community. The severity and advanced state of health problems in Arkansas, combined with the central location of UAMS and its existing strengths, increase the value and health benefits of the TRI. UAMS is a leader in translational methodologies in a predominantly rural state and thus plays a critical role in many such national programs seeking to addresses the diverse and challenging health problems of rural health. We have been able to build the solid foundation of our TRI with existing strengths, which include strong institutional support, rapidly expanding facilities, outstanding academic programs, strong institutional partners, and recognized areas of research excellence. We encourage you to learn more about our Core Areas and how they may be of assistance by clicking on the information to your left.
