Behavioral Research Specific Aims UAMS CCTR

Behavioral Research

Specific Aims

Aim 1: Develop an expert team to advise, consult, and collaborate regarding the integration of behavioral interventions into clinical and translational research. The team will advise on innovative behavioral research programs that can be tested in community practices and reach rural Arkansas through telemedicine. Behavioral science researchers  will closely work with the Informatics component to assist on technical aspects of delivering behavioral interventions.

Aim 2: Develop an accessible menu of behavioral research techniques and resources available to clinical and translational investigators of the TRI. The team will codify the behavioral measures and techniques that members of this group employ. A menu will be developed which will feature a written description of each technique and an exhaustive list of the applications of each technique and its functions in each application, and faculty expertise.

Aim 3: Consult and collaborate with clinical and translational investigators of the TRI who seek to add a behavioral research component to their research studies. Via the Translational Technologies and Resources program component , members of the Behavioral Research expert team are available for consultation and collaboration with investigators seeking the opportunity to include behavioral research in their study planning. The form of consultation and collaboration ranges from one-to-one mentoring relationships to team-oriented collaborations involving multiple members of the expert team.
