UAMS Department of Radiology faculty dominated the 2004 list of
‘best doctors’ in their field. Nine of the eleven Arkansas
radiologists on the Best Doctors list, plus one of the three Arkansas nuclear
medicine doctors, are from UAMS. The following UAMS Department of Radiology
physicians were named to the list of best radiologists:
This is the 10th year of the annual survey of Best Doctors in America® by Best Doctors, Inc. The complete list is comprised of about 30,000 doctors in over forty
specialties. A total of 221 Arkansas physicians are included on the list.
Best Doctors in America® is widely regarded as the largest peer-reviewed
evaluation of the medical profession ever undertaken. Woodward/White conducts
the survey annually by contacting every doctor on the list and asking,
“If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty and you
couldn’t treat them yourself, to whom would you refer them?”
Every doctor has the opportunity to both comment (confidentially) on the other
doctors on the current list and to suggest additions to the list for further
review. Evaluations of the thousands of doctors named are weighed, scored,
and filtered for bias. Only physicians who earned the consensus support of
their peers were included.
