The Security Division, under the direction of
is responsible for setting up,
monitoring and maintaining the UAMS Campus
Wide Security System. The system uses the most up
to date technology to provide a secure environment for the
UAMS community through audio, video and
alarm monitoring including card access control using the UAMS
ID badge. We also use the
Hugs
Infant Safety System for the protection of
the infants under the care of UAMS.

Covert surveillance cameras
Part of
the security divisions responsibilities will be installing
and maintaining surveillance equipment.
If your area is in need, we can provide temporary
recorded video surveillance through the use of covert
cameras.
You can request this service online by clicking the
link below. After the request is processed, you
will be contacted.

If you are experiencing problems with your
ID Badge granting you access to your area, before
getting a new card try this test. Swipe your
card through the reader and observe the light on
the reader.
If
the reader light stays RED
then your card has lost its magnetic and you will
contact Media
Services at 686-5570 for a replacement ID
Badge.
If
the reader light alternates between RED
and GREEN
then your card is working but you do not have
access rights to the area. This may be due
to you having had a new ID Badge made or the
Department Head may not have notified the Security
Division, requesting access rights for you.
Please
be sure, when you get a new ID Badge, to contact
the Security Division
686-6879 or by E-mail
and advise us so that we may update your ID Badge
in the Campus Wide Security System.
