Beginning July 9, 2002, pursuant to UAMS
policies, the account on which a new PC is purchased or leased
will be charged $200 per computer to offset the associated cost of
the UAMS Microsoft Campus Agreement.
The Benefits of the UAMS Microsoft Campus
Agreement:
1. All
UAMS PCs are licensed (providing the PCs meet
hardware requirements) for the following software titles:
a. Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (XP, 2000, and NT 4.0)
b. Microsoft Office App Suites (2003, XP, 2000, 97, and MacOffice
versions 2001, X)
c. Microsoft CORE Client Application License (Allows PCs to
connect to Microsoft Exchange, Web, and File and Print Servers)
2. Faster
PC configuration and installation
a. Because the Microsoft licensing charges are pre-paid, the PCs
can automatically be configured as they arrive without waiting for
software licensing IDTs to be processed.
3.
Employee Work-At-Home privileges
a. Current UAMS employees (faculty and staff, not students) may
check out the needed media to install the above software on home
PCs providing the
Microsoft
Campus Agreement Waiver is completed and
returned to IT.
b. Employees must remove all software titles and return the
original media to UAMS IT at or before termination of employment
at UAMS.
