Biomedical informatics is the science and
practice of information and inference to accelerate activities that improve health.
About Us
The UAMS Division of Biomedical
Informatics (DBMI) is a new division at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
The Chief of DBMI is Dr. William R. Hogan.
Our division will develop and use
computational tools to assess and manage information as it relates to medicine and public
health.
Our division is located on the
4th floor of Biomedical Research Center, Building II Suite 459. You may call 501-603-1766 to schedule an
appointment with one of our faculty or
staff members.
Vision Statement
Our
goal is to discover, teach, and apply the best methods and technologies for
managing and reasoning with information to accelerate the improvement of health. In
meeting this goal, we are focusing on the following key initiatives:
- Research informatics (CTSA)
- Data warehouse
- Linking basic science data with clinical data
- Honest broker system
- Facilitating translational collaboration
