UAMS MCAT Prep Program

 

May 16 - June 1, 2011

 

Applications will be accepted March 1, 2011 – April 15, 2011.
Students who send materials after this date will not be considered for admission.

Program Design:

Daily Class (Mon. - Friday) 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Small class size (18 – 24 per class)
No lectures – we work with passages in class
Lunch and morning and afternoon snacks each day
Science & Verbal Reasoning practice questions
Develop methods to manage test-time effectively
Exam preparation—Diagnostic and full length Mock Exam
Test-taking skills
UAMS medical student instructors
Interaction with other great students
Effective study methods
Participate in interactive learning process
Work with other highly motivated students

Lodging provided for out-of-town students (Arkansas Residents Only)
The ExamKracker MCAT Study Package is required for this course.  However, we do not sell the set.  ExamKracker, Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble sell the set as well as other book vendors

    $50 deposit* to hold spot (applied towards tuition, nonrefundable)

Applications are not considered completed until a deposit is received. We accept check or money order only, made out to UAMS.

Admission decisions will not be made until mid May 2010.

Day 4     PHYSICAL SCIENCE

AM – Physics: Momentum, Machines, Radioactive Decay; Fluids & Solids

PM – Chemistry: Thermodynamics; Solutions

Day 5     PHYSICAL SCIENCE  

AM – Physics: Waves  

PM – Chemistry: Heat Capacity, Phase Change, & Colligative Properties

MID TERM EXAM will be handed out

Day 6     PHYSICAL SCIENCE
AM
- Physics: - Electricity & Magnetism, Light & Optics
PM – Chemistry: - Acids & Bases; Electrochemistry

Day 7     BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE
AM – Biology: - Molecular Biology, Cellular Respiration. Genes; Microbiology
PM - Organic Chemistry: - Molecular Structure

Day 8     BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE
AM – Biology: The Eukaryotic Cell, The Nervous System. The Endocrine System
PM – Organic Chemistry:
- Hydrocarbons, Alcohols, & Substitutions

Day 9     BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE
AM – Biology : The Digestive System; The Excretory System. The Cardiovascular System; The Respiratory System

                       PM – Organic Chemistry: Carbonyls & Amines

Day 10     BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE
AM – Biology: Muscle & Bones, Populations
PM – Organic Chemistry:  Biochemistry & Lab Techniques

Day 11     VERBAL REASONING & MCAT ESSAY   

Day 12     ALL DAY MCAT MOCK EXAM
