Course Name Description
Access I: Tables Class teaches how to design the basic database objects - the tables where information will be stored. Students will create a complete table with appropriate field design and data validation. Students will learn to perform sorts and searches.
Access II: Forms Class covers how to create and customize forms so the user can more easily enter data into the tables, view the data, search through the data, and sort the data. (Access I Tables required)
Access III: Queries Class teaches how to build queries. A query searches the tables of information you have created and displays only the information that matches the criteria you set. Class covers creating relationships between existing tables. (Access I required)
Access IV: Reports Class covers how to create and customize reports to list, summarize, and print the information from tables and queries. (Access I required)
Annual Competency - PCT Marathon/SCM PCT Quarterly Competency Marathon/SCM
Excel Basics Covers worksheet files, elements of worksheet and routine worksheet operations, including: types of data; entering, editing and formatting data; retrieving, saving and printing worksheet files.
Excel Basics II Formulas Includes how to create and edit formulas, using relative vs. absolute references and using built in functions.
Excel Charts Teaches how to create simple charts from worksheet data using data series. Topics include: defining data series, using multiple selections to control plotting, copying data series from a worksheet, adding, formatting and deleting a data series from a chart. Produce presentation-quality pages that include worksheet data and a chart.
Excel III Adv Formulas Includes how to Use logical Functions, relative vs. absolute references, rounding numbers and use built in functions.
Inservice 1 hour Inservice lasting 1 hour
Introduction to Internet For beginning users of Internet Explorer. Topics covered include how to: Enter URL in the Address bar, Use hyperlinks to open other web pages, Navigate web pages, How to set the Home page, Return to your designated home page, Use the Favorites list, Open pages from the History list, Search the Internet for information, Access Email from UAMS Web Page, Understand what a Domain Name is, and Refresh the Internet Browser.
Logician 101 This is an introductory class that teaches the user to sign-in, identify functions available and navigate through Logician. In addition, the class teaches the user to view a patient's chart, create and respond to flags and documents, along with performing prescription and phone note updates. ***Important-Please fax a completed user Access Request for: Centricity Phycician Office EMR (Logician) form to IT Security at 603-1369 at least one day prior to attending class.
MediPac Inquiry Only MediPac Inquiry and Update MediPac is a patient management system is which personnel may look up, enter or change data online for Inpatients and Outpatients. The MediPac Inquiry and Update class provides instruction for Inquiring or Updating registration, admission, transfer, discharge, insurance, financial class, billing and historical profiles of patients. MediPac Inquiry and Update is for users who will look up and/or make changes to existing patient profiles using the MediPac system.
MediPac One on One MediPac training for one person at a time. MediPac One on One must be arranged with the Instructor and is subject to room availability.
MediPac Orientation Teaches registration of MediPac a patient management system in which personnel may look up, enter or change data online for Inpatients and Outpatients. The MediPac Registration class provides instruction for registration, admission, transfer, discharge, insurance, financial class, billing and historical profile of patients. MediPac Registration is for users who will register patients using the MediPac system.
MediPac Updates MediPac Inquiry and Update MediPac is a patient management system is which personnel may look up, enter or change data online for Inpatients and Outpatients. Oscar Orientation OSCAR (Outpatient Services Computerized Appointments and Registration) is a front-end interface that pulls together information from both MediPac and SMS (Shared Medical Systems). It allows the user to schedule and register an outpatient into one system (OSCAR) instead of having to enter the same information separately into the two systems.
Outlook Calendar For beginning users of Outlook Calendar. Topics covered include how to: schedule an appointment or a recurring appointment, edit an appointment, schedule a meeting, change meeting information, remove or add attendees and schedule events.
Outlook Email Topics covered include how to: compose and send a message, attach a file to a message, reply to a message, forward a message, delete a message, manage messages, and use some of the mail features.
PowerPoint Level 1 This class allows the student to use basic Presentation Skills, learn to edit and proof text, use the slide sorter view, add special effects, set up slide show options and printing options.
PowerPoint Level 2 This class allows the students to use advance features, learn about your master slide, adding special effects, using tables and collaborating on a presentation.
Registration WorkStation Registration Workstation is a module that presents Patient Management screens within a graphical user interface (GUI) on a workstation to provide ease of use and increase user productivity. Now, with the use of the mouse, users can take advantage of features such as drop down boxes and radio buttons. A re-engineered screen flow and a new Data Preference feature increases accuracy, reducing denials and rejections due to incomplete or erroneous registration data.

The ELVIS Registration class provides instruction for registration, admission, transfer, discharge, insurance, financial class, and historical profile of patients. ELVIS Registration is for users who will register patients using the ELVIS system.

Now, with the use of the mouse, users can take advantage of features such as drop down boxes and radio buttons. SAP Ad Hoc Reporting This class is designed for individuals responsible for generating reports in their department and find that the standard HR reports in SAP do not contain all the information needed. In this class you will learn to create, modify and delete queries. You will also learn to format, print and export reports which are the results of your queries. It is recommended that you take the Recruitment/Personnel Administration for Department Users class prior to attending this class.
SAP Business Process Reports In this intermediate class, you will receive an overview of the Financial Master Data structure in SAP and how this data is used in reports. Besides learning how to run and navigate basic SAP reports, you will also learn which reports are best used for day-to-day financial maintenance as well as month-end reporting. Before attending this class, ensure you have a working knowledge of your department’s finances.
SAP Employee On - Line Recruitment This class is designed to provide the instructions on how to create a qualified applicants’ list within SAP using the On-line Application process. You will also learn to run the Vacancy Assignment transaction to process applicants interviewed but not selected
SAP Employee On - Line Recruitment & Par Work Flow Instructions on how to create a qualified applicant list within SAP using the On-line Application process; how to use the Vacancy Assignment transaction to process applicants interviewed but not selected and Position Authorization Request work flow is also covered in class.
SAP General Ledger & IDT Users transferring funds within their financial area may enter IDTs directly into SAP. These parked documents then await the Finance department’s approval before posting to the General Ledger. Parked documents are immediately recognized in SAP as an encumbrance on the General Ledger, making reporting more accurate. Llearn how to enter an IDT and how to track its progression from park to post. Before attending this class, ensure you have a working knowledge of your department’s finances.
SAP Grant Reporting Designed to provide the fundamentals needed to run reports in the Project System module, this class will also give you an overview of the UAMS Grants process. This class is only for those working with Grants and Projects. Before attending this class, ensure you have a working knowledge of your department’s finances.

SAP HR Reports This course provides knowledge to complete and run the most commonly used standard and custom reports within the Human Resource module, which are used in daily actions.
SAP HR Reports & AD Hoc Reports How to complete and run the most commonly used standard and custom reports within the HR module. Also, when the standard HR reports in SAP do not contain all the information needed you will learn to create, modify and delete queries and learn to format, print and export the results of your queries.

SAP Introduction Introduction to SAP is designed for new employees who will be using the SAP system. It is designed to introduce all users to SAP and the basic concepts for getting around in the system.

SAP Inventory Management for Dept Users A beginning class which you learn the procedure to create reservations charged to Cost Centers or Grants. This enables users to order items from stock stored in the Distribution Center. Included in the class is the procedure to search for items online. You will also learn how to change or display those reservations and how to copy existing reservations to create new reservations. Learn how to run a stock overview report, which shows amounts of items on hand in the Distribution Center.
SAP Misc Billing Dept Users Occasionally, UAMS departments may need to create invoices for products or services sold to outside groups. In this intermediate class you will learn how to create, print and track invoices. You will also discover valuable reports for monitoring invoice payments. Before attending this class, ensure you have a working knowledge of your department’s finances.

SAP Personnel Administration for Dept Users This class is designed for employees who are responsible for maintaining employee data in the SAP system. In this class you will learn how to set employees up for payroll, process employee’s personnel actions, process non-employee actions, and display employee records.

SAP Procurement for Dept Users A beginning class which teaches the procedure to create requisitions, this enables users to order items from outside the hospital environment. Class covers various types of requisitions, including contract and non-contract items. Learn how to change a requisition, enabling a requisition to be put “on hold”. Learn to display requisitions as well as purchase orders and how to find check information. Vendor information look up and Receipt of Goods (on-line receiving) is included in class.
SAP Purchase Order Reports A beginning class which teaches the procedure to create purchase orders.

SAP Recruitment for Serv Providers This class is designed for OHR Recruitment staff, Nurse Recruitment staff, and Faculty Recruitment staff only. In this class you will learn to enter applicant data, maintain applicant actions, and enter vacancy assignment status for applicants interviewed but not selected.

SAP Travel Request for Dept. User Before UAMS employees complete business-related travel, they must have an approved travel request entered into SAP. In this beginning class you will learn how to enter a travel request, how to reconcile a travel request and how to use reports to track travel commitments. You’ll learn basic UAMS travel guidelines.

UAMS Hospital Systems Orientation This is a two-hour class which provides an overview of many of the different computer systems in use at UAMS. It is part of the Building Bridges orientation for Clinical Programs employees.This class does not provide access to any systems or develop a competency in any area. It is to familiarize new employees with some of the many computer programs they will encounter at UAMS.
